@ :: sms :: May 12 2012, 02:34 (UTC+0) | From: damon : Well, it’s quite obvious really — usually to hit the shores and swim on the salty waters are the most appropriate thing to do to cool that heat off your and to further take advantage of this illusionary, and almost tropical weather, one should bring a film camera, have it loaded with your preferred emulsion and you’re good to go out there and shoot – It needs to see the brightest light there is! continued... |

@ :: sms :: May 12 2012, 02:34 (UTC+0) | From: damon : It’s was her first love that she would never forget, an affair that she thinks worth pursuing. It just gave her the most memorable shots with less of an effort – this is just how good this film is! The Classic Medium Format Diana Camera is Back
@ :: sms :: May 12 2012, 02:34 (UTC+0) | From: damon : Seriously, just put it all out of your mind. We’ll no longer “look for the big picture,” and there will be no more “getting an overview” or “stepping back to take it all in.” All of these concepts imply an abrupt halt to activity - a conscious pause of your natural drive and instincts. As we say day in and day out: Be fast. Who’s got the time to consider the implications when close to a million tremendous... continued... |

The Freak Frenzy Lomography of Brian Milo
@ :: interviews ::
Apr 16 2012, 04:21 (UTC+0) | Apparently for some lomographers shooting an accidental double exposed shot and then forgetfully submitting it to lomo.missions is enough to win you first prize. This was the scenery for Brian Milo when he won the Freak Frenzy contest for the lomographic societies prestigious award. So what is the rest of his lomographic expertise got to offer: Lots of skimpy colorsplashed x-tacy girls, hairstyles, skin, city streets, colorsplashed weddings, multiple exposure shots, triples, swaps and adventurous and vibrant cross processed colors. Brian Milo's de-evolution of all things LC-A demands to be seen. continued...

Another Dimension of Interdimensional Photographic Dreaming Marttjin Style
@ :: interviews ::
Apr 02 2012, 02:44 (UTC+0) | Let's first get the adjectives out of the way: emotional, amazing, sweeping, enrapturing exhausting and riveting. When one sees photography pushed to to its limits in an almost zen state of perfection it leaves one asking how is this possible with a camera? Forget the rules of leaving an end result with a developed roll of film. In this day and age the end result is altered to whatever means possible. Stop and take a look around once in a while at photography other then lomography. Let us introduce to you the photographer simply known as Mattjin. continued...

@ :: interviews ::
Mar 06 2012, 02:33 (UTC+0) | This 32 years old graphic designer/art director who hails from Rio De Janeiro Brazil is a self confessed techno and samba lover who also breaths art and is addicted to cinema. Studying in school at ucsd, California for 7 years she went back to Brazil and started working mostly within the music industry designing cd covers till 3 years ago making the move to corporative being hired by a big ad agency. Realizing that big and corporative just didn't do it for her she needed the freedom to create and is now back on a freelance status looking forward to opening a small studio with friends. Perhaps this search for freedom is also evident in her photography where she is always using her cameras to document the world around her. continued...

Lomographic Society International Man of Mystery WebMeister
@ :: interviews ::
Feb 10 2012, 01:46 (UTC+0) | He's mysterious, funny, charming, almost painfully handsome, extraordinarily intelligent, self-aggrandizing, supahextraordinarily humble, full of energy, amazingly bad at counting (at least for a programmer that is) and he shoots lomo. He has a reputation for serving up the meanest vodka sour at 4am and does so with the biggest grin you could capture on film. He also codes pretty dammed good! Good enough to be employed by the official Lomographic Society International. Who is this man of mystery? Our very own Lomo Agent scootiepye takes a look behind the scenes and into the mind of... The Shakin Bohemian Lomographic Lens of Gloria Fantasmagoria
@ :: interviews ::
Jan 29 2012, 02:15 (UTC+0) | She was raised by an irascible but kindly family of freaks in a remote Northumbrian hamlet. She moved to Germany to seek love and fortune and ended up in Munich, where her tiger-skin coat and pink wellies continually draw sidelong glances from envious Bavarians. Her first success in the world of photography was winning first prize in a local village show for a fuzzy shot of her father with his trousers around his ankles. She has won Home of the Day and was recently named one of the Top 6 Lomographic Weblogs. Welcome to the shakin bohemian lomographic lens of Gloria Fantasmagoria. continued...

Ignore the Rules - It's Time to Change Them
@ :: editorial ::
Jan 18 2012, 03:28 (UTC+0) | The debate caused by the recent editorial, In Search of Lomo Tradition: 100 Years of Shooting from the Hip, posted by CCOH has revealed opposing schools of thought within our lomographic community. On one side there are those seeking change, on the other there are those who are quite happy with the way things are. Is it time to take sides? Is it time to choose a new direction? Is it time for us to really start ignoring the rules? Lets look at posts by two users outlining opposing points of view. continued...

A Trip Through the Island of Cheung Chau
@ :: lomo travels ::
Jan 09 2012, 03:05 (UTC+0) | The sea was undecided: whether to batter the pier or allow the star ferry and confusing mix of other vessels safe passage on her back. By the time I made it to the Lamma pier she had decided on the latter. Nick came wearing his trademark hat and after a short exchange with a friend of his along with some oolong tea- we headed to the Cheung Chau pier. The sun broke free a few times allowing us the luxury of watching the sea and surrounding islands become illuminated by her faint shadow. After a few photos and some vacant looks at the ocean we arrived at Cheung Chau. continued...
